In the year 1383 (2004-2005) and during the recording of the composition “Iran-e Kohan” Piece, Shahram Nazeri suggested setting to music the poem Arash-e Kamangir by the late Siavash Kasraei. For my initial selection, considering the length of the poem, I chose about one-third of it based on my taste and mood at the time. That summer, I composed the piece. We recorded it with an “Iranian” ensemble and its typical Orchestration and Nazeri performed its song. The recording process that year and the pieces we worked on never reached full completion. However, from that unforgettable summer and its recording sessions, two works were later released in a more refined and complete form: “Amir Kabir” and “Arash-e Kamangir”, the latter of which, like all my collaborations with Shahram Nazeri, has its own story...
